My $30 sleeping pad upgrade beat my buddy's $200 setup last weekend

I've been using a cheap foam pad for years and always woke up sore. My buddy Kyle brought his fancy inflatable pad on our trip to Green River State Park. I borrowed it one night and honestly, I didn't sleep any better. The next day I grabbed a $30 closed-cell foam pad from a discount store. It's not fancy, but the foam just works better for me. No leaks, no air pump needed, and I slept solid for 7 hours straight. Kyle ended up spending half the night topping off his pad. Has anyone else gone back to basics after trying the expensive gear?

My $20 foam pad has seen me through countless trips where my buddies fancy air mattresses ended up as deflated pool toys by morning. Guess my cheap setup fits my "slept wrong and now my back is a human pretzel" aesthetic better.

lol honestly I used to be one of those "you gotta spend money for good gear" guys but you're making me rethink everything. Air mattresses are great until 3am when you're basically sleeping on the cold ground with a plastic sheet over it 😂

king.stella I feel you on the pretzel aesthetic, my back cracked like a glow stick last time I tried to be fancy." Guess my cheap foam pad and I are just a couple of relics who like sleeping without a science project involved.
