Did you read that recent Consumer Reports thing about sleep pads failing in cold temps? I saw a guy on YouTube who tested like 15 different brands and almost half of them had issues with the baffles separating or the valve leaking after a few uses. For $250 you'd expect that thing to survive a nuclear blast, not just one night of camping. Honestly sometimes the hype around those high-end brands is just marketing, not actual quality. Hope you can get REI to take it back.

Were you using it on bare ground or with a footprint under it? I've seen people swear by that move to stop leaks but honestly for that price it shouldn't matter.
