I finally shut down a 7 year old joke on our group chat and 3 guys stopped talking to me
For years I was the guy in our text thread who made the same dumb running joke about my buddy Dan's fishing boat, and I thought it was harmless until his wife messaged me saying he'd stopped going out on it because of us. I sat with that for two days and then posted an apology in the thread, and three of the guys said I was being dramatic and basically went quiet on me, so now I'm the one who got canceled in a group chat of six people. Was anyone else the joke guy without knowing it, and did apologizing make it worse or better for you?
