I got called a 'boomer' for saying we should hear both sides... in 2019
Back in September 2019, I was at a bar in Denver with some coworkers, and this guy my age brought up a news story. I said something like 'well, we should probably listen to both sides before judging,' and he laughed and called me a boomer... I was 28 at the time. Now it's five years later and I see people getting fired over posts from a decade ago. Has anyone else noticed how the goalposts keep moving on what's 'cancellable'?

Honestly, the bar keeps rising but somehow the floor keeps dropping out.

Ugh, "the floor keeps dropping out" is way too real. I mean, my personal bar for like... basic adulting is basically on the ground at this point. Like, I was genuinely proud of myself yesterday for remembering to eat lunch before 3pm, so that's where I'm at. Meanwhile everyone else is out here launching rockets to Mars or whatever and I'm just trying to figure out if my jeans still fit from last year. Maybe it's just me but sometimes I feel like the floor is actually just a trap door and I'm the one who keeps tripping over it.
