Just realized my old college roommate got fired over a 10-year-old tweet dug up last week.
He made a dumb joke about a movie character in 2014, and now his new job in Denver let him go because of the 'online environment', so has anyone else seen a career actually end over something this old?
Ugh, you're totally right. It's just a lazy way to avoid taking real responsibility for what happens. They always hide behind that instead of fixing the actual problem.
Remember that whole thing with the game server last year... they kept blaming "emergent player behavior" for all the toxic stuff. Just felt like a fancy way of saying they weren't gonna actually moderate anything.
