My old tweet from 2012 cost me a job offer in 2023
A company pulled their offer after someone dug up a dumb joke I made online over a decade ago. The whole thing took about three days from the call to the final 'we're moving in a different direction' email. Has anyone else had a past post come back to bite them years later?

Yeah @jennyh41, been there. The trick is to get everything in writing before you agree to anything. If they won't put the terms down on paper, that's your first red flag. I learned the hard way that a verbal promise means nothing when things go sideways. You gotta protect yourself because no one else will.

Remember when people said the internet forgets? This proves it doesn't. I used to think old posts didn't matter, but this kind of stuff changed my mind. Companies will dig forever now.
