Spent $150 on a 'cancel proof' online course that got the creator canceled a week later

Signed up for some influencer's course on building a loyal audience without getting canceled. Cost me $150 upfront. Then the guy gets exposed for faking his whole backstory and the course website goes down. No refunds, no response. Has anyone else lost money on this kind of thing and actually gotten it back?
