The bakery owner I watched lose 2,000 customers in 3 weeks over one bad review

A local cake shop in Austin got slammed after a bride posted a video of their collapsed wedding cake, and by the time the owner publicly blamed the delivery driver instead of apologizing, the line out the door dropped from 30 people to zero in 18 days, so has anyone else seen a business recover from that kind of spiral?

That exact spiral is wild to watch from the outside. Saw a similar thing happen to a taco truck near my cousin's place, except the owner doubled down and started roasting customers on Instagram live. The kicker was the taco truck had been serving the same dry, sad meat for years, but people only cared once the drama hit. The owner ended up rebranding as a "ghost kitchen" and now sells overpriced frozen meal kits online, which is somehow working. Sometimes people just want a story more than a decent product, I guess. Still, 2,000 customers in 18 days is brutal, that bakery might be better off just renaming the whole damn shop.
