The DVD cut 40 seconds and smeared the colors, while the fuzzy tape kept the part everyone says got pulled in 1992. So which version do you trust more for stuff like this, the clean rerelease or a crummy original copy?
Trust the tape. Every time. The "clean" version is always some guy in a studio deciding what you're allowed to see. I remember tracking down a copy of the banned Sonic Youth video and the fuzzy bootleg had the whole thing while the official release was chopped to bits. The wear and grain is part of the real thing, not some fake fix. A smear here or there beats a missing scene. Restored usually just means erased.
