Cut a 2 inch strip of carpet to find my seam, saved me an hour of guessing
Had a stretch job in Aurora a couple weeks back where the seam landed right on a doorway and I could not get it to disappear no matter how I trimmed it. Out of frustration I cut a 2 inch scrap strip off the edge and laid it along the seam line before committing to the full cut, and the pattern shifted just enough that I could see exactly where to move it. Moved my line over about half an inch and the seam vanished on the first try after that. Cost me a 5 minute scrap instead of an hour of recutting. Anybody else keep a few cutoffs around just for test fitting tight seams like that?
