Found a faster way to seam tape without bubbles

Been fighting with seam tape bubbling up on hot days for years, then a old timer showed me to score the backing with a utility knife before pressing it down. Has anyone else got a trick for keeping seams flat in humid weather?

@the_max mentioned the hairdryer trick and that is a good one. I have done the same thing but a heat gun on low works even faster just be careful not to melt the tape. Scoring the backing with a utility knife is a solid tip too, it lets the air escape along the cut line instead of getting trapped. The credit card squeegee method works but you really have to press hard and move slow to push all the air out ahead of it. For humid days I always let the tape sit in the house for an hour before I take it outside, it adjusts to the temperature change better that way.

Wait, did you try heating up the tape with a hairdryer before you press it down? I had the same bubble issue on my garage door weatherstripping and that trick worked way better than I expected. Just hit it with the heat for like 10 seconds until it gets soft, then stick it down and it molds right into the surface. Also make sure the surface is bone dry and clean with alcohol first, even a little bit of moisture will make bubbles show up later.

Even heard of using a credit card to squeegee the air out as you go.
