Hot take: I quit power stretching every room after watching a guy in Tulsa lose a seam
I used to hit every room with the power stretcher first thing, no matter what. Then last month I watched a guy in Tulsa blow out a seam right in front of the homeowner because he stretched a 12 by 14 berber way past what it wanted and the backing just gave up. He stood there with the stretcher still in his hand and said 'that one's on me.' Now I pin the corners, walk it, and only bring out the power stretcher when the room or the backing actually asks for it. Cost me maybe 20 extra minutes a job and I have not had a single callback. Anybody else dial theirs back or am I the only one here?
