Hot take: that $22 tube of seam sealer from the box store is why I redid a whole landing in Boise
Bought the cheap tube instead of the good stuff for a 3 step landing job off Fairview Ave, and it oozed brown through the seams in about 3 weeks. Had to pull the whole thing back up, clean the glue off, and redo it for free, so that $22 tube cost me a full Saturday and about $180 in wasted materials. The good sealer is like 4 bucks more and I have never had one call back with it. What sealer are you all running that actually holds up in the heat?
Watched my buddy go through almost the same thing last summer on a driveway apron over in Meridian. He grabbed the cheap stuff to save a few bucks and by the second week it was bleeding this gross brown streak down the face of the concrete. His wife was so mad because it looked terrible from the street and they were getting ready to list the house. He ended up chipping out the joint, scrubbing it with a wire brush, and redoing the whole thing in July heat, which was brutal. That extra 4 or 5 bucks would have saved him a weekend and a marriage fight, lmao. Now he only runs the good self leveling stuff and hasn't had a single issue since.
