My worst day ever was last Tuesday in Phoenix when I trimmed a door and the entire carpet unraveled because I forgot to seal the edge first

That $350 job turned into an 8 hour nightmare with me hot gluing the edge back together at 9pm, has anyone else had a door trim go this bad or am I just an idiot?

Last year I tried to fix a squeaky hinge on my front door and ended up taking the whole door off its frame. The door fell on my neighbor's cat who was napping on the welcome mat. Cat was fine, just startled, but I had to explain to my neighbor why her cat was under my door and suddenly terrified of the color green. You might want to stick with hot glue, it sounds safer than my methods.

Hang on, @eva908, did you just say the cat is now terrified of the color green? That's such a specific detail I can't even wrap my head around it. Did your door have a green welcome mat or something? I'm trying to picture the cat's little brain making that connection and it's honestly hilarious. Poor thing probably sees a green leaf outside and starts sweating. You really went above and beyond to create a phobia in that cat. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone accidentally traumatizing an animal with a specific color before.

Gotta wonder if that cat now has some kind of internal color chart, like green equals danger and everything else is okay. I'm just imagining it hissing at a cucumber or a lime, you know, really leaning into the new phobia.
