Rant: That cheap seam roller glue trap in Cleveland cost me a full day

I picked up one of those bargain seam rollers online, the kind with the plastic handle and metal wheel that spins loose. First job with it last Tuesday in Cleveland, the wheel seized up after about 20 feet of pressing down. The glue was still tacky and the seam started lifting before I even finished the room. I lost the whole afternoon re-pressing with a hand block and had to drive 45 minutes to grab a proper roller from a supplier in the next town. The cheap one set me back $15, but the lost time and gas easily hit $200 plus I had to redo two seams that had already creased. Has anyone else had luck with the mid priced rollers, or is it just worth spending the $60 right off the bat?
