Switched from knee-kicker to power stretcher after 8 years
Used to just use a knee-kicker for everything. Thought it was faster. Did a big living room job in Portland last spring and got callbacks for wrinkles after three weeks. Switched to a power stretcher and haven't had a single issue since. Anyone else make that switch later than they should have?

Is it just me or did we all go through that phase where we thought our knees were built for this? I used my knee-kicker for so long I started wearing a pad on my knee like I was playing professional basketball. The first time I used a power stretcher I actually laughed out loud at how dumb I was for waiting. I had this job in a rental where the carpet looked fine for two weeks then started wrinkling up like an old man's face. Went back three times before I gave in and bought the power stretcher. Haven't had a callback since and my knee actually thanks me now.

Oh man, YES. I was the same way for way too long (like almost 10 years, I'm embarrassed to admit). I thought I was saving time with the knee-kicker and honestly I just didn't want to spend the money on a power stretcher. But then I did a big dining room in Seattle and had the same thing happen, wrinkles showing up after a month. I finally broke down and bought one and it's night and day. The carpet stays tight and I don't have to go back for fixes like ever. I totally feel your pain on waiting too long, it's one of those things where you kick yourself later for not switching sooner.
