That time I tried a kicker roller on a tricky staircase
Last Tuesday I had this curved staircase with a tight bullnose at the bottom... couldn't get the carpet to lay flat no matter what. I tried double stick tape, heat, even weighted it down overnight... nothing worked. Then an old timer at the supply house told me to use a kicker roller instead of my knee kicker for the final stretch. Honestly, it smoothed out that bullnose like magic in under 2 minutes. Anyone else got a weird tool trick for those impossible curves?

Bro hold up. A kicker roller? For real? I've been doing floors for like 8 years and I always thought those were just for tight corners or weird edges. Never woulda guessed it'd lay a bullnose flat like that. That's the kind of trick you'd see on some ancient YouTube channel with like 12 views. I'm half tempted to go grab one from the truck just to try it on a weird curved baseboard I've been fighting with all week. You sure that old timer wasn't messing with you? Cuz that sounds almost too good to be true.

Wait did the old timer say anything about the grain direction? Because I feel like that could make or break it depending on the wood you're working with.
