The seam roller was backwards this whole time

Been installing 12 years, mostly commercial glue-down. Last Tuesday on a job in Tacoma I grabbed my seam roller and noticed the handle was worn smooth on the opposite side from where I grip it. Took me a second to realize I'd been pushing it toward me instead of away for my whole career. The weight distribution is completely different, seams flatten way easier now. Anyone else have a tool they used wrong for ages without knowing?

13 years in and I only figured this out last spring on a hospital hallway job in Spokane. I always thought the handle was just shaped weird for some reason, so I gripped it however felt natural. Once I flipped it around and pushed forward instead of pulling back, the pressure fell exactly where it needed to be. My line work got noticeably flatter and it took way less effort to get a good bite on the seams. Makes me wonder what else Ive been doing backwards this whole time, honestly.
