Tried a cheaper carpet stretcher on a living room job and it messed up my knee for a week

I grabbed a smaller power stretcher from Harbor Freight last month cause my good one was in the shop, and after stretching a 12x15 room in Phoenix I could barely walk the next day. The head kept slipping and I had to put all my weight into it just to get the carpet tight, which wrecked my knee joint. Anyone else had issues with budget stretchers or am I just getting old lmao?

Man that sounds rough... Harbor Freight stuff is hit or miss for sure.

Honestly I used to think their stuff was junk too but @amy154's experience makes me reconsider.

I got a cheap tool chest there once and it still works fine after years.
