Went back to my old power stretcher after trying a new one for a month
I got talked into buying one of those fancy new automatic power stretchers at the trade show in Dallas last spring. Seemed like a good idea at the time, less strain on the knees and all that. Cost me $400 plus tax. Used it on a 12x15 bedroom job and it kept slipping on the tack strips. Adjusted the tension three times and still got a ripple in the corner. Had to pull out my old manual stretcher from the van to fix it. That old thing is heavy and wears out my shoulder but it gets the job done right the first time. Has anyone else tried those automatic ones and gone back to the old way?

Same thing happened to me with that Dallas model, went straight back to my old manual stretcher too.

Telling you @stella_baker, those fancy models just can't beat the basics.
