3 years ago my grandma showed me the dented can shelf and I haven't paid full price for beans since
I used to think dented cans were sketchy until my grandma dragged me to the back aisle of the Grocery Outlet in Modesto back in 2022. She grabbed 6 cans of black beans for $1.50 total because the labels were bent, and I stood there thinking she was gonna get us sick. Turns out as long as the dent isn't on the seam or bulging, the food is fine, and I've been buying them ever since. Last trip I got 4 cans of chickpeas for $2 and a jar of pasta sauce for 89 cents just because the lid was scratched. My weekly grocery run went from about $70 to $45 and I'm not even exaggerating. Does anyone else have a family member who put them onto the clearance shelf and now you can't go back?
