My card got declined at the taco truck on 5th and I had $3.40 in my pocket
Last Tuesday I hit up the taco truck on 5th after work and ordered my usual, three al pastor for $7.50, and my card got declined right there in front of like four people. I checked my account and the paycheck hadn't landed yet, so I had $3.40 cash and had to think fast. I asked the guy if he could do two tacos instead of three, and he just shrugged and gave me three anyway, said the extra one was from the batch that was about to sit too long. Now I always pull cash out on payday eve so this never happens again, and honestly that truck has been my go to spot for two years because of stuff like that. Anyone else got a cheap spot where the owner just hooks you up when you're short?

Bro that guy just handed you a free taco when your card bounced?? That is wild. Most places would've hit you with the "sorry man, no cash no taco" and moved right along. The fact that he played it off like the extra one was about to go bad is the smoothest move ever. Dude basically saved your whole night and acted like it was nothing.
