DAE think beans are just filler? My grocery bill in Tucson proved me wrong
I used to skip the dried bean aisle because I figured it was cheap food that didn't really fill you up. Last Saturday I made a pot of pinto beans with a ham hock and some onion, fed my family of four for two dinners plus lunch, and the whole thing cost me $4.80. Now I want to know what other cheap staples I've been writing off, so what's the one budget ingredient you ignored for way too long?
