Had to pick between a board game night and a museum trip for a first date
I was trying to set up a cheap date last weekend and narrowed it down to either hitting up the free Thursday evening at the Denver Art Museum or grabbing a $7 copy of Catan from a thrift store and playing at a coffee shop. I went with the museum because I figured it would give us something to talk about if things got awkward. The Catan idea would've been way more fun though since we ended up just staring at paintings for two hours. Anyone else ever regret choosing the "safe" option on a low budget date?

Man, you picked the WRONG museum for a first date! Next time find one that has those weird interactive exhibits where you can mess around and be silly together, not just stand there like statues looking at old paintings.

Oh man, I actually read an article about this exact thing! It said museum dates can be tough because you're supposed to be quiet and focused, not getting to know each other. The interactive exhibits are a game changer though. I heard the Denver one has a whole hands-on section now with like building stuff and art making, so maybe that's the spot for next time.
