Swapped the $18 movie tickets for a $3 thrift store puzzle night

I was about to buy two cinema passes last Friday when my buddy mentioned his apartment had a half-finished 1,000 piece puzzle from Goodwill, so we grabbed cheap soda and did that instead, and honestly the arguing over which piece goes where was way more fun than any preview, has anyone else ditched pricey plans for a random find?

The thrift store puzzle we grabbed once had a missing piece and we spent an hour convinced the cat ate it, turns out it was stuck to my buddy's sock, so our detective skills are clearly top tier. My patience for movie crowds is basically zero these days, but I'll gladly argue over a sky piece for three hours like it's a life or death debate. Cheap soda and questionable puzzle quality beats overpriced popcorn any night, even if the puzzle ends up being a picture of a sad clown we now refuse to finish.
