The time I realized I was buying board games all wrong for years
Last month I was at a thrift store in Columbus and found a copy of Carcassonne for 3 bucks. I'd been buying brand new games for 25 to 40 dollars thinking I had to have the latest stuff. It hit me that I could have been thrifting or trading this whole time and saved hundreds. Anyone else have a game night fail because of a knockoff or missing piece you found cheap?

Did y'all ever buy a game at a yard sale thinking it was complete and then get home to find half the pieces missing? I grabbed a copy of Ticket to Ride for 5 bucks once... looked fine in the box but when I opened it up there were only like 3 trains left and the board had a coffee stain. Still played it with coins and scraps of paper as markers for the routes. Ended up being a fun mess though honestly.

Did you ever try to play a game with monopoly money as replacements and end up with someone's entire train route paid for with fake cash?
