I used to think my granddad's soot-stained handkerchief was just part of the job.
Now I use a full face respirator and can't believe we ever worked without them.

Have you ever had to work with old systems that were barely held together? I've seen stuff break down a lot more because the tools and parts just weren't as good. It was honestly harder than folks seem to remember.

Yeah, duct tape was practically a standard issue part back then.
