Met a lady who saved her chimney from a fire with a tennis ball

She told me she noticed smoke and threw a tennis ball up there to knock down a bird's nest, and it actually worked. Has anyone else seen something that random fix a problem in the field?

She probably just saved her from a bigger problem, lucky the ball didn't get stuck too.

Friend of mine had a corgi that swallowed a whole squeaker toy once. She didn't realize until the dog started coughing and throwing up foam. Vet said the ball could have blocked her airway or caused a twist in her stomach if it got stuck. Ended up costing her like $800 to get it removed surgically. So yeah, this lady definitely saved the dog from a way worse situation. Sometimes you gotta make a quick choice to avoid a big medical bill.
