Spent $80 on that magnetic chimney brush system... total waste
I saw this ad for a magnetic sweep kit that promises to clean your flue without going on the roof. Bought one from a place in Denver online and figured it would save me time on the easy jobs. First try the thing got stuck halfway down and I spent two hours fishing it out with a coat hanger. Anyone else fall for these gimmicks or am I just unlucky?

Did you ever try the magnetic ones with the bigger discs instead... I almost bought one of those Denver kits too but read a few reviews that changed my mind about the whole idea. It really made me realize that sometimes the old school way with a rod kit is just worth the extra effort, even if it means a few more trips up the ladder.
