That chimney fire in Booneville made me check every liner I touch
Last fall I did a routine sweep on a house outside Booneville. Looked fine, no buildup worth noting. Three weeks later the owner called me back, said they had a fire that nearly took the place down. Fire marshal found a cracked clay liner, hidden by a cheap patch job from a previous sweep. I was on the hook for it since I was the last one in there. Now I run a camera down every single flue, even the ones that look clean. Costs me 45 minutes per job but I don't want that phone call again. Has anyone else had a liner fail after a clean bill of health?
