Warning: a Canada goose nest cost me 3 hours on a Tuesday job in Buffalo
Honestly I showed up to a two story colonial in Buffalo last Tuesday expecting a normal sweep and creosote scrape. Tbh a goose had built a nest right in the chimney crown and she was not moving for anybody, so I sat on the roof for about 45 minutes just waiting her out. Ngl I ended up calling a wildlife guy who took another 2 hours to get there, and the whole job turned into a 5 hour mess when it should've been 90 minutes. Back when I started sweeping in the 90s we just capped everything tight and never dealt with this. Has anyone found a cap that actually keeps the big birds out without messing with draft?
