City put a bike lane on my street and the trash truck just stopped coming down it
So my city installed this protected bike lane on my street about 7 blocks from downtown, and for the first few days it was great. Then I noticed our trash bins were still full on pickup day, and the recycling was piling up too. I called the city and a guy told me the trucks are too wide now to fit past the new concrete barriers without scraping cars, so they just skip our block. I got about 20 neighbors to sign a short letter and we showed up at the council meeting with photos. Has anyone dealt with a city redesign that accidentally cut off basic services like this? What actually got them to fix it?
