I used to drive my old truck to the grocery store every other day, now I walk with a cart. The change happened after my neighbor in Tacoma showed me her monthly gas receipt.

Honestly that gas receipt thing feels like a weak reason to change your whole life. Trucks are useful for way more than just groceries, like hauling stuff or helping people move. Walking with a cart is fine until you need to buy a big bag of dog food or a case of water, then you're stuck. Plus time is money, and driving is just faster for most errands. Saving a bit on gas isn't worth losing all that convenience.

Get where you're coming from about the convenience, I really do. My neighbor has a truck and it's a lifesaver for big projects. For me though, seeing that gas money add up every week was a real gut check on how much I was driving just for small trips.
