My neighborhood recycling bin says one thing but the truck takes another

I watched the collection crew in Austin last Tuesday toss my entire blue bin into the trash compartment because the lid was slightly open, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has caught their local hauler doing the same and what you actually do about it?

Call the city solid waste office, they'll pull the truck's route footage and make it right.
