Question about solar panel installers - did I make the right call?

I had a guy from SunPower out in Denver last month who told me I was stupid for wanting panels on my north-facing roof. He said I'd only get like 60% efficiency compared to south facing. But then another company, Local Energy Works, said they could still get me 4.2 kW production with a different panel layout. Who's actually right here - should I just give up on that roof face or is there a way to make it work?

Man my buddy had the exact same thing happen up in Boulder and it worked fine.
