Just dropped $150 on a set of carbide end mills from a local supplier instead of Amazon
Figured I'd support the little guy since my usual online order was delayed. They cut through some nasty stainless steel with zero chatter, and the guy even threw in a free tool holder. Anyone else stick with a local shop for tooling?

Nah, Amazon's return policy has saved my ass way too many times to ditch them for end mills.

and honestly the thing people don't think about is how their return policy basically gives you a free rental on niche tools. like for end mills or weird machine parts, sometimes you just need one custom cut and then you're done with it. i've seen guys order a specialty bit, use it once, and return it because it's not like they're gonna use it again for another year lol. amazon doesn't care, they just toss it in the pallet pile. it's not ethical maybe but it's definitely smart if you're on a budget or working on a one-off project.

What's the craziest thing you've returned to Amazon?
