Appreciation post: My first coding book versus today's online forums

I picked up a huge C++ book from a garage sale when I was starting out. (It was so heavy and full of jargon I almost gave up.) Back then, figuring out a bug meant staring at the page for hours with no one to ask. Now, I can pop into a subreddit or a beginner's chat and get friendly advice right away. The change from feeling totally lost to having a whole community ready to help is amazing. What about you? Do you find learning to code less lonely now too?

Watched my buddy Mark struggle with a pointer error in his C homework last year. He had some old textbook from the library, and the part in the book was just a wall of words that made no sense. So I told him to check out a programming forum online. He posted his code snippet, and within an hour, three people had broken down the problem in simple talk. That moment totally changed how he saw coding, like he wasn't on his own anymore. Now he's always in those chats helping other newbies too.

Sometimes I wonder if these moments are as big as people say. Getting help online is pretty common now. It's good but maybe not a huge deal.

Your mileage may vary with those online moments.
