The day I stopped formatting every line of code by hand (and felt like an idiot)
For like 6 months I was manually indenting each line of my JavaScript with spaces, thinking that's just what you do. Then a guy in a Discord server showed me Prettier auto-formats everything in one click, and I realized I wasted probably 15 hours of my life. Was there a coding habit you stuck with way too long before someone (or something) made you see the light?

Jesus, that's painful to read. My buddy runs a small web dev shop and he did the same thing with CSS for like 2 years. Hand counted every single space and used a little ruler on his screen to make sure columns lined up. His wife finally saw him doing it one night and asked if he was building a website or a Minecraft world. Now he's got Prettier set to auto-format on save and still talks about it like he discovered fire.

Oh man, I spent a whole year manually indenting CSS like some kind of digital caveman. I even had this system where I'd count the spaces in my head and tap the spacebar exactly that many times, like it was some ritual. Then a coworker saw my screen and asked if I was writing code on a typewriter. Now Prettier runs on save and I feel like I've unlocked some secret level of coding where I'm actually using my brain for real problems instead of just making indent patterns. What was your biggest "wait, that exists?" moment after you switched?
