Had to pick between a Breville and a Gaggia for my first espresso machine

I was stuck between the Breville Barista Express and the Gaggia Classic Pro for about two weeks last month. Ended up going with the Gaggia because it seemed more durable and repairable down the line. Now I'm pulling okay shots but the steam wand is way harder to use than I expected - anyone else find the learning curve steep on these things?

Reminds me of learning to fix old cars or even just trying to get a vintage game console to work right. Everything worthwhile seems to take a couple tries before it clicks. Throw enough stubbornness at something and it eventually gives in.
