I just hit 1000 grams of coffee beans ground this month and my wallet is screaming.

I got one of those grinders with a built-in scale and it keeps a log. Checked it this morning and the number floored me. That's over two pounds of beans, which at my usual $18 a bag from the local roaster is... a lot. I knew I drank coffee, but seeing the actual weight made it real. It's not even for guests, it's just me and my partner. Are we the problem? Does anyone else track this stuff and get a rude awakening?

My old grinder had a counter and it hit 500 shots last year. Honestly, seeing that number made me cut back for a solid month because it felt so wild. Tbh, tracking it makes the habit way too real, like checking your phone screen time. I switched to a cheaper blend for my afternoon cups just to quiet the guilt.

That's why I never look at my own shot counter!

Just buy the good beans and skip the counter.
