Pour over vs French press: I finally gave up on the press after 2 months of mud
I drank French press coffee for 2 months straight and could never get rid of the sludge at the bottom of the cup, no matter how coarse I ground the beans or how slow I pressed. Switched to a $12 pour over cone last week and the same beans from the shop on 5th Street taste way cleaner, like I can actually pick out the chocolate notes now. Anyone else think the press gets a free pass just because it's easy?

Wait, you paid only $12 for a pour over cone?? I thought those things always cost way more than that. Also the sludge thing is so real, I gave up on my press for the exact same reason and never looked back.
