Six months with a ceramic pourover cone and my french press is gathering dust

I picked up a cheap ceramic V60 in Portland back in March and the flavor difference is so obvious now that I can't even go back to my old metal cone, but has anyone else found the ceramic version needs way more preheating than they expected, or is it just my tap water?}
