Spent $150 on a fancy espresso machine and now I can't even look at my coffee shop's $7 latte without cringing
Bought a Breville Bambino Plus three months ago on a whim and now I'm pulling shots that taste better than any cafe around here for like 50 cents a cup. Has anyone else completely ruined their ability to enjoy overpriced coffee after going the home route?

Wait isn't 50 cents a cup a bit low for actual bean cost?

Man I feel you on this one. My buddy runs a small roastery out in Portland and he breaks down his costs sometimes when we're hanging out. Good single origin beans run him like 8 to 12 bucks a pound wholesale and you're only getting maybe 30 to 35 cups out of that if you're making it right. So 50 cents barely covers the raw materials let alone labor and overhead.
