Vent: My French press broke 3 months ago and I finally bought a new one yesterday
I was using a mason jar and a sock for weeks because I thought the $40 was too much, then my buddy Dave laughed at my muddy coffee and handed me his old one. Has anyone else gone way too long with a janky setup just to avoid spending a few bucks?

Dave gave me his old Bodum and I still use it two years later.

Those Bodum French presses are built to last if you treat them right. The glass is surprisingly tough, and the plunger parts are easy to clean or replace when needed. A simple rinse and it's ready to go again the next morning.
