Bought a $200 custom frame for a key issue and it's been a nightmare
I finally got my hands on a decent copy of Amazing Spider-Man 300 last month, my first big purchase like that. I wanted to show it off right, so I dropped about $200 on a custom UV-protected frame from a place online that a lot of collectors talk about. The frame itself looks fine, but the mounting job they did is awful. The comic is visibly crooked inside the mat, and there's a tiny bit of pressure on the top edge that's making me super nervous about spine stress. I mean, I paid all that money specifically to protect the thing, and now I feel like it's worse off than if I'd just left it in the bag and board. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a framing service and found a better way to display a slabbed book without risking damage?

They charged you two hundred bucks and still put it in crooked?

Seriously? It's probably just the angle of the photo. I've had stuff look weird in a picture but it's actually fine in person. Two hundred isn't even that crazy for some places, depending on what it was.

That's just adding insult to injury, right?
