Had to choose between a mint Amazing Spider-Man #300 or paying rent on time
Found a near-perfect copy at the Portland comic con last month for $800, which was exactly my rent money. I picked the comic, thinking I could sell a few other books to cover rent later. It did not work out, and my landlord was not happy. Ever make a comic buy you really could not afford?

Bought a first print TMNT #1 at a yard sale for fifty bucks when I was a teenager. My mom found the receipt in my jeans before laundry and I was grounded for a month.

Damn, that's rough. Did you ever get to keep the comic? I just hid my stuff in an old shoebox in the closet after something like that.
