Honestly, I just found out that Marvel's first comic in 1939 was a reprint of a detective magazine story. I saw it in a YouTube video about comic origins. Some people say it shows comics were always about adapting other media, others think it downplays the original work that came later. What's your take on where the real 'first' comic actually starts?
