My local shop had a 'no gatekeeping' sign up for Free Comic Book Day
I went in and a guy who usually acts like a quizmaster just helped a kid find a Spider-Man book without any attitude. It made the whole day feel different, you know? Has your shop ever done something simple that really changed the vibe?

Okay but "made the whole day feel different"? It's a guy doing his job without being a jerk for five minutes. That's the bare minimum, not some big event. Shops put up signs like that because the normal vibe is bad. Fixing a problem you made doesn't deserve a medal.

Maybe it's the bare minimum, but a lot of places don't even hit that mark anymore. When basic kindness feels rare, it actually does stand out. That's why a simple good interaction can change your mood.
