The 1992 X-Men #1 sold 8.1 million copies, but my shop still had a bin of them for a decade
I was sorting through a dollar box at a con in Portland last spring and found five copies of that gold foil Jim Lee cover. Comic shops ordered way too many back then. The print run was huge because everyone thought they'd be worth something. Now they're wallpaper. It made me wonder if the current #1 variant craze is just the same mistake with better marketing. Anyone else find 'rare' books from the 90s sitting in bargain bins?
