Tried single issues vs trades for a year each - trades are way better for reading

I spent 2023 buying floppies week to week and felt like I never got a full story. 2024 I switched to trades and now I can actually follow the plot without waiting 30 days for the next part. Anyone else find trades easier to read?

My $60 Age of Apocalypse omnibus kept my coffee table from wobbling for months.

Wait till you try a collected edition of a 90s event series, the floppies were a nightmare with all those crossovers you had to track down. I finally got the whole "Age of Apocalypse" in one book and it was like seeing the light for the first time. My pull list used to be 12 books a month and I still missed half the plot because I forgot what happened in between. Trades just fixed my dumb brain's inability to keep a timeline straight. Plus they look nicer on the shelf, not gonna lie.

Betty, you just described my entire comic reading history. The 90s crossover events were brutal, and I am right there with you on forgetting what happened between issues. I used to spend half my time at the shop trying to remember which X-book I needed to buy next. Getting the whole story in one trade was a game changer for me too. And yeah, trades do look way better on a shelf than a pile of floppies with mismatched spines. It just makes more sense for my brain, and I'm not ashamed of that.
